Q + A with the newest member of our Talent Engagement team – Kath Sciacca!
You know those ‘pinch me’ moments? We’re happy to admit we’ve had our fair share of them since Kath joined our team a few weeks ago. If you’ve been following along at home, you’d know that a few of the traits we looks for in future teammates are empathy, curiosity and a downright desire to do good for others.
Kath? Has all three and then some.
If we weren’t already so excited about them being on our team, what’s more is that they’ve joined affix in the position of Talent Engagement Specialist. A newly created area to support our continued growth at affix! (More on that at another time)
With extensive experience working in an externally facing capacity, Kath is accustomed to being very proactive with solving customer problems and finding win-win outcomes for everyone. Our favourite 🤗
We’re excited to see Kath thrive as they combine their passion for making connections and cultivating communities within recruitment. Particularly with their keen interest for all things diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace.

Q + A with Kath Sciacca, our new Talent Engagement Specialist!
Tell us, what do you do at affix?
I seek and engage with the talent of the future! Building community and making connections with the right people, so that at the right time, we can help them connect with a great work opportunity!
What impact do you hope to have with the incredible affix community?
In terms of impact, I’m very proactive in bringing DEI awareness to my work and passionate about helping find ways to improve diversity and inclusion efforts, whilst representing these values for affix in their conversations with the candidate market.
What attracted you to working at affix?
affix feels like the workplace I had longed for. Genuine advocates for their people; they foster a culture of embracing individuals for who they are, along with the ideas they can bring to the table. They immediately made me feel like I could not only completely be me, but encouraged it. Who wouldn’t be attracted to that!
What tech or trend are you loving right now?
Bum bags! I’ve always loved them and I am thankful they are cool ‘again’. Trust me, they are cool.
If you had to deliver a TED talk tomorrow, what would it be about?
My TED talk would highlight what it’s like being a non-binary person in a binary world. How together we can expand our minds, open our hearts and create a safe and welcoming space for everyone to be their authentic selves.
What’s your superpower?
Anxiety. How? I suggest you read about it 👉 here!
What’s something many people don’t know about you?
I’m afraid of the dark.
What are you listening to, reading and/or watching right now?
Alternating between listening to tunes by Ruel and Kyle Lionhart, re-reading an all time fave book: ‘The Five People You Meet in Heaven’ and crying happy tears while watching heartwarming dog/cat videos online.
What’s your favourite mental health/productivity hack?
Take a break, put on an upbeat boppy song and DANCE, either in your backyard, living room or while sitting at your desk.
Ok last one… time for ‘would you rather’!
- Would you rather make a beeping noise when you’re stressed or cry confetti when you’re sad?
- Definitely cry confetti when sad! I’d imagine the magic that is confetti would quickly turn my frown upside down.
- Would you rather perform surgery or fly a commercial plane without any qualifications?
- While the thought of either sends me into panic mode, I feel I would be able to navigate the surgery with less risk than the flying!
- Would you rather only use words containing the letter ‘e’ or automatically breakdance when someone coughs?
- While I do enjoy a good dance, I’d be concerned that someone would cough while I’m performing surgery, therefore, I’ll opt for only using words containing the letter ‘e’.
