Web Developer


The internet we all use it, and if you’re reading this you’ve probably had a hand in building something on it. auDA have the trusty job of making sure domains are legit, ensuring an open, free and secure internet and without them the internet .au simply would not work. 
auDAs is the non-profit regulatory policy body that manages the .au domain of the internet. This sounds easy, but it’s layered with security, regulation and a web (excuse the pun) of technology. 
The product
au Domain Administration Limited (auDA) is Australia’s country code Top Level Domain (ccTLD) administrator and self-regulatory policy body, which oversees the operation and management framework of the .au domain of the Internet.
it’s  auDA’s job is to provide a safe, secure and reliable namespace for more than 20 million Australian Internet users. 
They are a community-based not-for-profit public company limited by guarantee.  It is endorsed by the Australian Government and has an agreement with the global Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) to manage the .au ccTLD. 

The what
As a web developer you’ll be responsible for developing functionality for and maintaining the auDA website and related websites and form connectivity to SaaS platforms like Salesforce.

You will work on exciting new focuses such as new functionality to deliver our strategic projects – such as growing and diversifying auDA’s membership, and support our core functions relating to operating the .au namespace, managing compliance with the .au licencing rules, and multi-stakeholder engagement.   

You will have a focus of team engagement and will provide ongoing support to business units including the Communication, Stakeholder Engagement and Policy (CSEP) team. 

The why 
You’ll be the in house lead of the website redevelopment, while working closely with an external agency and you will be driving the impact and communicating the vision between what the organization wants to the technical team. This role will be the essence of variety, touching multiple parts of the project.

About the role 

  • Code writing and development within auDA’s Content Management System (CMS) – Drupal
  • Design and implement of software projects
  • Ensure the production of reliable and efficient code.
  • Coordinate implementation, Testing and Bug-Fix activities
  • Perform peer reviews of completed development tasks
  • Perform unit testing on code and participate in UAT & QA testing
  • Write and maintain technical documentation to support systems and guide future software development projects


  • PHP, MYSQL, JavaScript, JQuery, HTML5, CSS
  • GIT Familiarity with Git/GitLab 
  • Content Management Systems eg. Drupal 
  • Experience taking security into account from the ground up when developing software – auDA adheres to the ISO 27001 standard and ASD Essential Eight. 
  • Azure and AWS Infrastructure as Code (IaC) build tools.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Software engineering or similar field
  • Experience with API integration 
  • Experience with web technologies and CMS platforms
