Technical Business Analyst

The Role
We are looking for a smart and effective Business Analyst. As a start-up, Business Analysis is a much more multi-disciplinary role than at a larger, more established company, so you will need to be comfortable sitting across a range of activities and roles.

Reporting directly to the Technical Lead, you will get hands-on experience in working with the technology and product teams to make sure that all of the ideas, features and implementations are properly documented. In addition, you’ll perform some testing activities, to ensure that deliverables match the specifications that you’ve created.

You are going to be working on a very business critical project, the product at the heart of the business, which will help companies, health providers, and employees. You will be someone who thrives on the challenge of working to deadlines, the pace is important, but without losing sight of the importance of quality.

My Occ Health Record is an exciting B2B SaaS start-up that is revolutionizing the way employers handle the occupational health data of their employees.

They were born from Bodycare Workplace Solutions, the largest provider of onsite injury prevention and physiotherapy services across Australia and New Zealand, so they’ve got the DNA to really understand the marketplace needs.

They’re growing incredibly quickly, and in addition to building out their core platform product, they are continuing to innovate and drive new product development.  

What you will do
The role will not be limited to creating requirements documents and in an agile environment the BA will need to take on other responsibilities as the need arises such as testing or facilitating discussions between the development team, business users and stakeholders.

You will be responsible for or involved heavily in:

• Collaborate with Head of Product and the Product Team fill in/build out the detailed requirements/stories
• Consult with key business and technology stakeholders to ensure the completeness and appropriateness of the documented requirements
• Resolve questions and clarify any confusion from developers to keep process within time and quality expectations
• Break down the requirements into smaller stories for more manageable planning and communication
• Execute initial testing of developer deliverables against specification
• Provide actionable feedback to developers
• Collaborate with Technical Lead to create workplans, timelines, etc.
• Provide timely and actionable feedback to developer queries
• Participate and contribute to the development of BA processes and best practices
• Contribute to the ongoing creation and improvement of development processes and supporting processes

Your potential background

• Experience and excellent ability to produce concise documentation with high attention to detail
• Experience in a B2B SaaS solution is greatly preferred. Even better would be experience in B2B health technology
• Experience in project management, tracking, and/or information management and systems surrounding them
• High level of attention to detail, and the ability to execute that detail in documentation and design
• Experience with writing Epics, User Stories and prioritizing backlog items
• Experience with Agile development tools such as Jira
• Experience in testing and providing effective feedback from testing
• Ability to create great relationships with internal stakeholders
