Senior Technical Lead

So, what exactly is a Senior Technical Lead?
The Senior Technical Lead is essentially the 2IC to the Engineering Manager and will be groomed as such. This person will manage other Technical Leads, lead teams of software engineers across multiple projects, and even step into the EMs shoes from time-to-time.
A passion for client-facing is an absolute must, and the Senior Technical Lead is considered to be an inspirational leader within the business demonstrating awesome people skills and an ability to help clients make positive choices about the solutions the team provides.
A typical day in the life will include (but won’t be limited to…)

  • Developing software and ensuring quality by the team (code reviews, pair programming)
  • Roughly 50% of your time will be spent on team and project health-related activities
  • Driving standards and ensuring adoption and adherence by team members
  • Reviewing and providing feedback on outgoing Commercials and Statements of Work
  • Liaising with client SMEs
  • Liaising with 3rd party vendors as project needs dictate
  • Attending Sprint planning and showcase meetings
  • Liaising with Production team for Project Status
  • Occasionally act as part of the delivery team on projects

The main things you’ll need to be successful in this gig

  • 7+ years’ experience as a Senior Apps Developer (Android, iOS, or React Native)
  • Experience managing multiple projects (client engagement, architectural planning, line management)
  • Previous leadership experience (managing/mentoring)
  • Ability to plan, estimate, and resource projects
  • Passion for client-facing (2 days on-site/week Covid permitting – Southbank location)

Nice to haves

  • Pre-sales experience
  • Exposure to DevOps practices
  • Solid AWS knowledge
