Not sure if your next challenge looks like working on multiple projects to gain a wider breadth of experience or work in a product company to dive deeper into a problem domain? Well, just like the little girl from Old El Paso said, “Why not both?”
We’re teaming up with an incredible Brisbane based Innovation Incubator business focusing on data related solutions with a UNIQUE twist. This team of creative thinkers and problem solvers work closely with industry expert founders needing technical guidance to solve challenges within their domain – and this team do it bloody well. To date they’ve worked on solving building applications for GPs to manage better patient outcomes for COVID, to solutions that allows the non-verbal community to have an augmented and alternative communication platform with lifelike speech synthesis. They spin out roughly 5 new product companies per year across a variety of industries from travel, health, medical to finance and everything in between.
The most interesting part with this role is if the solution you build grows legs, matures and solves a problem in an area of interest to you, you’ll have the opportunity to move internally into that product company that is housed in the same building.
Think of it as being part of a family that continues to grow under the same roof, where your partners success means your success.
Pretty cool, huh?
The deeper dive into what the gig looks like
The role will involve you working closely with industry leading founders as part of a squad-based team consisting of a delivery lead, designers, engineers, analysts and data scientist.
The first 3 months of engagement typically consist of discovery phase that is design led, working initially large amounts of uncertainty to ascertain what the problem is, who the product will be used by and designing a solution in a RAD methodology.
In this role you’ll be providing technical leadership for early stage products, getting your hands dirty with code contribution and quality and recommend alternative solutions if the product needs to take a different direction.
Ideally, we’re looking for a programming language agnostic engineer (to use the term, a polyglot developer) who likes to use the right tools to get the job done. If you’ve worked with one or more of these languages, you’re the right person! Their primary tech stack generally consists of:
