Senior Software Engineer

If you’re a bit of a party animal and have visited clubs in Fortitude Valley (or anywhere else in SEQ, for that matter), there’s a very strong chance you’ve used this start-ups software when entering a club. And for bloody good reason too. Their ID capturing software has helped contribute to reducing physical violence at pubs and clubs across Australia by 30-40%, along with a whole host of other crimes.

Tapping into a multi-million-dollar market, this ambitious team is expanding their product suite of ID verification software across several additional industry verticals from property to car rentals.

Backed and supported by a well-known, heavy hitting Brisbane based consultancy that have worked extremely close with the team to develop their product, you’ll have the best of both worlds from joining a well-funded growing start-up where the sky’s the limit for career progression whilst still having access to resources and mentors from this exceptionally talented consultancy.

About the role

The team are looking for a Senior Engineer to take full ownership over the technical design and implementation of their new product suite and help guide a junior developer.

In between greenfield and brownfield, there are several already pre-built components to work from with still a wide enough scope for ownership in designing a number of new features within their new suite of products. These new products and features include web portals and native iOS and Android apps.

By virtue of the ownership you’ll have over the technical design and direction, this opportunity provides a clear pathway towards a Technical Lead position within the business.

About you

You’re someone who wants to build products that are far-reaching, used every day by thousands of people and looking to take ownership of technical direction moving into a Technical Lead role. While being full stack with either JavaScript or TypeScript, you have an interest and lean towards working on front end functionality and building beautiful UIs.

Working in a small, collaborative and close knit team is something you’re quite familiar with, and you’ll relish in the challenge of at times ambiguity but the feeling of accomplishment that follows when taking the self-initiative on executing on your ideas.

The technical details

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Strong React TypeScript/JavaScript experience
  • Solid experience with Node
  • Experience with cloud services – ideally GCP (open to AWS or Azure)
  • Experience with containerisation – ideally Docker (open to Kubernetes)

Big plus if you have experience with:

  • Experience with Swift or Objective-C
  • Linux environments
  • React Native experience

What you can expect in return:

  • Flexible WFH options
  • Training and development support through internal training, industry conferences and events and certifications
  • Incredible career growth opportunities
