It has to be said that opportunities like this don’t come about that often.
Often times, gigs within the start-up space talk about growth in pre-revenue environments with a particular runway. And that’s cool, it’s fun and has a lot of upsides. With that, though, comes risk.
However, our client has successfully raised capital and established a product-market fit. They have momentum and an already impressive client base here and the US. That grunt work has been done – it’s all about investing in the right areas and putting some thought, strategy, and leadership in how to scale. There’s a lot to go at. That’s essentially the gig in what we consider a start-up environment and one where they’re really making a difference in Education.
So, what does all this mean?
You will join as a critical member of the leadership group, relied upon for decisions around go to market, sales strategy and framework and lead the team in creating an insight-led sales culture – your goal: expand upon success-to-date and build scale at speed.
Building strategic partnerships within government, education boards, the relevant archdioceses, and partners/resellers, you will lead your small team from the front utilizing your trusted networks and ability to connect and engage with the right stakeholders – developing strategy and drive execution.
So, who do you need to be?
Collaborative, strategic, energetic and able to lead from the front, with a proven track record from within the B2B space, the key focuses will be to increase market penetration through new customer acquisition and drive growth and retention from the existing customer base.
Be able to assess performance, design metrics and able to build a team as the business grows. You’ll have Customer Success reporting to you, but ultimately, we want someone that can develop new business and bring real leadership and rigor to the sales process.
If you’ve been in a start-up or scale-up SaaS-based environment (ideally in the education space) with responsibility for leading a team in software sales, great. Better yet, you have a real desire to go somewhere that is flat where you can really influence and drive results.
