Retail Solutions Architect

Affix has partnered with this fast-growing Australian retail brand to source a Retail Solutions Architect to join their team.

The role will be based at their head office, which is city fringe Melbourne, with flexible working arrangements. The role is for a 12 month+ contract, but they are open to it being a permanent role. 

What they need is a Retail Solutions Architect who has ideally been in a solutions architect role for a minimum of 5+ years.  The successful candidate needs to have experience delivering customer-focused end-to-end solutions within an e-commerce environment.  The role will be supporting a core system replacement project and working on some initiatives like Click & Collect, Endless aisle, potentially a mobile app and more. Think also inventory management, order management systems, supply chain- and digital transformations.

Must have requirements for this role are:

  • Proven experience working in retail, including a solid understanding of POS, Click & Collect, Fulfilment and Merchandise.
  • Experience delivering customer-focused end-to-end solutions within an eCommerce environment.
  • The ability to deliver on business transformation initiatives
  • Proven experience in a business analysis role with skills in solution architecture will be considered
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into practical applications and solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of software evaluation principles and practices.
  • An understanding of, or background in software development, continuous integration, and agile software development methodologies.
  • Expertise reviewing new and existing solutions design within projects.
  • Expertise to identify and translate system requirements into software design.
  • Proven ability to be involved in gathering requirements, engaging with stakeholders and strong documentation skills.

This role is hands-on solutions, getting up to speed with requirements and working with the vendors and internal teams to crack out a solution and follow it through to delivery. The successful candidate must have proven experience working in a more unstructured and ambiguous environment and be able to adapt easily and quickly to changes in direction within a project.

The successful candidate must have digital experience within the retail/eCommerce environment, ideally, someone who has Click and Collect rollout experience and has worked on a POS solution or has experience in the supply chain side, understanding the processes and systems involved in online order fulfilment.
