Are you in digital product design and keen to join a startup? Are you passionate about health and wellbeing and have a deep understanding and experience with design practices including design thinking and human-centered design? With a passion to continually learn and improve, you look to peers, leading design blogs, and industry experts. Is that a nod I see?
What about the thought of making an actual difference in people’s lives, whilst working with an amazing team within a seriously scaling Melbourne-born start-up really excite you? Awesome, you might just be who we are looking for!
I’d like to introduce you to our mates at My Occupational Health Record, or MOHR for short.
So, who are MOHR?
MOHR is a B2B healthtech startup, taking on the big issues of digitally capturing, automating, managing, analysing, and securely storing employee health data. The big idea behind this is not just to create efficiencies, but to use that data for good: they are in the business of being proactive > reactive to help others make better decisions about employee health and safety.
Since launching MOHR in 2019, they’ve built a platform that will have a profound impact on the health and happiness of employees across the country, leading to better health outcomes for employees, as well as better business outcomes for Australian companies. They’re a curious bunch, made up of some of the smartest minds in the industry who have bold ambitions for positive change.
Sound good so far? Great, because their relationship with an already successful workplace healthcare services business means that they have the stability of an established entity, plus the startup entrepreneurial mindset to be bold and innovative.
The role
Essential to these growth plans is the addition of an experienced Product Designer. You will be reporting into and working hand in hand with the Head of Product and will be integral in designing solutions – some at early stage and some more established – that shape the future of the MOHR product.
As the Product Designer, you’ll be taking design ownership of the UI, working throughout the spectrum of digital product design from wireframes, to user research and high-fidelity prototypes, and be the go-to for all things user behavior within the design experience space.
You’ll need to be able to understand business needs and translate them into beautiful user experiences across all devices and platforms (desktop, tablet, mobile, apps).
You will work within a small product team and will be responsible for the creation, evaluation and iteration of user interface designs and user experience. An ability to present complex information simply will be key to success in this role.
We’re looking for someone to produce market leading experiences, collaborating with the wider product team to execute on strategy.
What will a typical day look like?
Who are we looking for?
This role would be well suited to someone with a few years of experience under their belt, looking for a role where they can flex their skills and have the freedom to have ownership of the design across the full product. You won’t be thrown into the deep end to sink, you will have mentorship by the Head of Product who has a solid history of design experience in the start-up space.
What experience do you need?
What else?
MOHR is born from a business that cares for people, so naturally they are looking for people who are reflective of their values – supportive, collaborative, wants to be part of an environment that feels like family, is people centric and caring.
While this is a unique “start-up” environment, with a sister company providing stability and a customer base that most start-ups could only dream of, this is still a start-up. We need someone that will come in with an attitude of doing what needs to be done, and not someone that expects the hierarchy, discipline, and resources of an established corporation. It’s an all-in kind of role, but that’s what makes it amazing.
