Mid Level Developer

If you are an avid follower of affix (and if you are not, well you should be) you may have seen a recent stat that 93% of employees today believe now, more than ever before, companies must lead with purpose The global pandemic has put many things into perspective. Candidates are now placing a sense of purpose  when they come to work knowing that the products they are helping to create are directly helping move the dial on making the world a better place. And here at affix, we don’t blame them! That is why we will continue to partner with businesses like Karista who are doing their part to help those in need.

Karista’s objective is to impact the lives of 1 million people by 2025, by helping carers and consumers connect with disability and home care service providers. They play a crucial role in helping clients make the right provider choice based on individual needs. And with better matches between clients and providers, care outcomes are improved and provider businesses can grow sustainably. (Now that’s impressive!)

Founded in 2016 and launched in early 2018, Karista has assisted over 10,000 families to navigate the often stressful and confusing experience that is selecting health care providers for loved ones. The team has celebrated constant business growth and measure their success both quantitatively and qualitatively – in growing client and revenue figures, and in the stories of how Karista’s assistance has transformed the lives of clients and their families.

With experience behind them, this well-established company is ready to scale up and they are looking for a passionate Full stack Developer to join the product team.

Why Join Now?

Karista is a purpose-led organisation, driven by helping those in need get better health outcomes. It’s a difficult assignment but one that the entire team is committed to. They’ve made an excellent start and there’s an enormous opportunity to do more.

In a relatively short space of time, Karista has built an offering that has made a real difference and it’s now time to take it to the next level. To date, the platform has been developed by a 3rd party and in order to realise its full potential, Karista has made the decision to bring development and more of the product team in-house, that’s where you come in.

What to expect:

You’ll be working in a cross-functional product team responsible for multiple platforms including their website (built in Django/React) and their CRM (Salesforce Lightning). A typical day begins with stand up, with breakouts for any issues flagged. If there’s a new feature to work on, you might attend (or even run) a workshop with other members of the team to explore solutions. Code reviews are done in GitHub and a high level of collaboration is encouraged at this point to try and lift everyone in the team up.

In this role you will have the opportunity to drive Karista’s platforms to the next level. Coupled with a true interest in what is being built and how this can positively impact the community. The product team works in an agile way and processes are designed to help you work at your best. Currently operating on a 2 week sprint cycle, your input will be invaluable as they adapt and evolve their ways of working.

Reporting to the tech lead, you will have regular check-ins, support and guidance to develop on areas of growth and build your career with Karista.

A bit about you

  • You have a growth mindset, and are eager to develop professionally
  • You have some experience developing back end solutions in Python
  • Bonus points if you’ve worked with Salesforce before
  • Experience using frontend frameworks (React preferred)
  • Exceptional intellectual curiosity, a passion for problem-solving and comfortable working with ambiguity

If you don’t tick all of these boxes but are still curious about Karista and what they do, please get in touch. The person they’re looking for is a passionate individual with a keen desire to grow, and this opportunity will have the time and space to do just that.

Next Steps: Hi, We’re affix. We have the awesome job of partnering with inspiring tech companies such as Karista to help them scale their teams with the addition of great humans. If you think this role and Karista are a good fit for you, then we would love to meet you. So go on, apply, tell us about yourself and then let’s connect.
