We are absolutely deee-lighted to have kicked off an awesome partnership with a humble, yet wildly successful strategic communications agency, helping them grow their team across tech & digital. And folks, we couldn’t be happier about it! 

This legendary communications agency has been in operation since around 2013, and has a *bloody* impressive client portfolio spanning right across Australia-Pacific. Think Coca-Cola, Colgate, and Sunrice, just to name a few. These clever cookies combine their deep knowledge through insight and creative excellence to develop real-world strategies for their clients that grow and convert new customers like nobody’s business. Pretty impressive stuff, if you ask me. 

And this gig? 

Well, this is a newly created role which, TBH, is exciting in and of itself. This media buying opportunity would allow you to set the tone and drive how media is regarded by developing a team and growing out an existing service offering. Perrrr-fect if you’re getting stale and are craving more growth and responsibility in your current role. 

So. Who are we looking for? 

We’re looking for someone who has some real “chops” across programmatic, digital, paid, search, and trading desk platforms. Oh, and we’d need you to have lashings of “above the line” experience too, for good measure. You’ll be someone who enjoys really driving outcomes and results, with an analytical mind, and who works with pace and grace. We’d also need you to be a subject matter expert on key accounts, be a damn hard worker, not being afraid to take on a challenge, and get your mittens dirty when required.

Here’s a little taster of what you’d be getting up to: 

  • Owning the planning & buying process, taking accountability for delivering best in class media rationales and plans;
  • Reviewing publisher brief responses and working on refining + negotiating them to achieve THE MOST optimum solutions;
  • Consistently flexing and demonstrating your ongoing knowledge of all media channels and use of media tactics;
  • Creating and presenting post-campaign reports to deliver best in class insights and learnings to clients that demonstrate your ability to deliver against briefed objectives;
  • Navigating the complex, ever-changing media landscape and being prepared to articulately explain to clients the “why” behind your recommendations;
  • Building trust quickly so that you are seen as the media advisor on how the recommended media will affect your client’s customer ecosystem and business results;
  • Staying connected with media suppliers, tech vendors amongst others to keep abreast of the latest opportunities for your clients;
  • Taking ownership of any media bookings, confirmations, and invoicing detail to deliver accurate commercial management that is best in class;
  • Reconciling a completed campaign to ensure that all value has been delivered and client KPIs met; And 
  • Working collaboratively and directly with our various delightful Asia-Pacific clients.

Not to brag or anything, but you have… 

  • Circa 3 [or more] years in a similar position, with rock-solid and demonstrated digital media planning and buying experience;
  • A tangible and demonstrated track record of achieving heightened financial and growth outcomes for your clients;
  • Top-notch organisational, presentation, and problem-solving skills;
  • A working understanding of ATL media channels;
  • The ability to build trust quickly, to collaborate super effectively across business units, and to manage up & down #LikeABoss;
  • A solid awareness of how digital, data, content, and creative marketing thread together an effective media buying strategy;
  • A data-driven approach to reporting and using analytical tools;
  • Resilience, adaptability, and the ability to work in a fast-moving environment; And
  • A growth mindset, curiosity, creativity, and resourcefulness.
