Lead Project Manager

So, what exactly is a Lead Project Manager at Catalyst?
The Lead Project Manager will be overseeing 3 squads made up of just over 40 professionals across Engineering, Design and BA in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne for a dedicated program of work. This role will see you having oversight and manage of a multi-million-dollar project that will affect over 10M users in Australia alone – and this will be one of many you will get your hands across here!
A passion for client-facing is an absolute must, and the Lead Project Manager is considered to be an inspirational leader within the business demonstrating awesome people skills and an ability to help clients make positive choices about the solutions the team provides.
A typical day in the life will include (but won’t be limited to…)

  • Transforming native apps into holistic, user-centered, reliable, and desirable experiences, including rolling it out across a new form factor
  • Working collaboratively with clients and end-users in a multi-disciplinary agile team, to reimagine, define, and build the next generation of mobile app(s) in this service
  • Providing tangible and sharp outcomes to the business and client, with some of the challenges coming in the form of working with the quality of existing code bases, and balancing what can be expected in delivery versus to what is feasible while getting runs on the board
  • Building burn-up and burn-down reports to track teams’ velocity and identifying opportunities for improvement to finesse a dream team
  • Liaising with client SMEs
  • Liaising with 3rd party vendors as project needs dictate
  • Attending Sprint planning and showcase meetings
  • Liaising with Production team for Project Status
  • Occasionally act as part of the delivery team on projects

The main things you’ll need to be successful in this gig

  • 5+ years’ experience as a Business Analyst, Project Manager or Product Manager in a digital technology business
  • Strong experience delivering on projects with a greater than $1M annualised spend
  • Experience managing multiple projects (client engagement and line management)
  • Previous leadership experience (managing/mentoring)
  • Ability to plan, estimate, and resource projects
  • Passion for client-facing (2 days on-site/week Covid permitting – Southbank location)

Nice to haves, but not critical

  • Experience kicking off projects from scratch i.e initiating governance and seeing it through to commercial completion
  • Experience in a consulting environment
  • Experience working with native mobile application solutions
  • Agile LeSS Certification
