affix is thrilled to be partnering again with Marketplacer – a scale-up tech business who build global online marketplaces.
Personally, I’m pretty excited to be supporting them in the recruitment of a Head of Growth & Performance Marketing to take their growth to the next level!
So, who are they and what do they do exactly?
Marketplacer is an eCommerce business. More specifically, they’re a software platform which creates, well, marketplaces! They’re based in South Melbourne with a team of close to 50 people.
If it’s a history lesson you’re after, have no fear, here it is! Co-founders Jason and Sam started their business BikeExchange back in 2007, which has since evolved to be a global marketplace. From this model, Marketplacer grew. Now working with businesses across multiple industries, Marketplacer provides the technology and platform for companies to scale and gain market share.
What’s this role about then?
I’m so glad you asked!
Marketplacer has a cracking network and strong reputation in the eCommerce world, which has seen them grow and flourish! However, it’s time to take this growth to the next level. That’s where you come in.
As Marketplacer continues to scale and grow, we’re looking for someone who can come in and build out a marketing strategy. You’ll be looking at everything from how best to use customer data, grow brand awareness, drive PR activity and tailor content to audiences. You’ll be driving the decision-making to determine key performance metrics and exactly how campaigns will be analysed. You’ll also be responsible for making decisions around events, what goes out to agencies and which channels to use to target different personas.
Although you’ll have direction from the CRO and co-founders, this role is a standalone marketing position. So, at times you’ll need to get fairly hands on – you’ll be comfortable devising a strategy from scratch, working out how to execute it, outsourcing as necessary, and then tracking performance. It’s a B2B role, focused on generating and converting new business leads – you’ll work closely with the sales team on this.
What you need to bring to the table
You need to be both a thinker and a doer. What do I mean by that? You need to be someone who enjoys working with senior leaders to shape, create and deliver a strategy but can also turn their hand to executional tasks when required. One moment you might be mapping out customer personas, the next presenting to the co-founders on key performance metrics, all the while devising channel strategies for future growth.
You’ll have worked in a SaaS business, and have created growth plans and roadmaps from scratch. Outcome-focused, you’ll bring energy and a can-do attitude to the role. You’ll be quick moving and someone who enjoys working in a test and learn environment.
Sounds like you? You know what to do.Apply Now
