Senior, meaty, greenfield product roles are hard to come by. Better yet, ones that are with leading tech businesses. How about multiple roles at a variety of levels?
We’re supporting our good friends at 99designs to help scale their product team and evolve their global design platform with customers front and centre. There’s an MVP approach and you’ll need empathy and the ability to define complex problem spaces and find creative solutions, no matter how “out there” they are. Approaching things differently, creatively, and in unpredictable ways are the norm here.
A little bit about 99designs
99designs is the world’s global creative platform that makes it easy for clients and designers to work together to create designs they love. Its mission is to champion creativity to create opportunities for people around the world. Founded in 2008, 99designs has grown from a small, online forum into a worldwide community of talented designers that is now the go-to solution for businesses, agencies, and individuals.
So what is the role about I hear you ask?
There are a few roles actually, suited to various levels of experience. The fundamentals of Product Management are the same; leading product development teams to deliver against their roadmap and using customer and creator data and insights to build out acquisition, collaboration, core platform, and search products (just to name a few)! And achieving this in a collaborative fashion with Designers, Engineers, Product Managers, Marketing, Marketplace partners and customers and creators alike.
As Group Product Manager a large aspect of your role will be to mentor your tribe and nurture the 99d product culture; drawing the best work out of your team and enabling their growth and success. You will be an experienced leader that has collaboratively worked with engineering and design to find the best solutions for the end-users. It’s not about being the hero here – it’s about inspiring others, guiding people to discover greatness, and coming up with ideas together.
You will own product strategy and the product roadmap and play a big part in stakeholder engagement at a global level both internally and externally to the business. Blue sky thinking, leading teams, uncovering solutions, collaboratively solving complex problems – it comes second nature to you!
As Senior/Product Manager you will have a natural affinity and desire to solve business problems, have a commercial mindset, and can make decisions based on data, value, insights and prioritisation. And asking why? Or why not? You’ll be responsible for taking the data and insights from their creators and customers, and build out aspects of their scalable, global platform. And you will lead the product development team to deliver against their roadmap.
A little about you
You are an experienced Product Lead, Group Product Manager, Senior/Product Manager with excellent knowledge of agile development. You understand that everyone wants things done and can make tradeoffs while staying on top of your backlog and key initiatives. You’re great at letting people know what’s going on and have the ability to stay focused where the most value is to be gained. You are the master of balancing competing needs, you can balance design, technology, and business while keeping in mind the often conflicting needs of the creator community and clients.
Just a little bit curious?
Shout out we’d love to hear from you
