We are working with the Australian Access Federation, a Brissy-based business who provide national authentication services to Australian higher education and research organizations, enabling cross-organizational access for over 1.5 million users. AAF work and partner with all Australian Universities and several prominent research organizations including the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) and leading medical research institutes.
  
The role

• In this role you will be nurtured and upskilled in configuring identity infrastructure to meet the needs of research communities.
• You will get involved in connecting new identity providers and research applications, developing registration workflows for different cohorts, advising research infrastructure providers about technical options, troubleshooting issues, and creating solution documentation.
• You will need to quickly grasp new concepts and technologies and work together with all AAF teams and external stakeholders to deliver secure solutions

The requirement

• Sound technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Demonstrated experience with Linux-based systems and an understanding of system administration concepts.
• Strong ability towards communicating effectively (verbal and in writing) with a diverse group of internal stakeholders and customers.
• A good attitude and an interest and willingness to learn and grow

  
The tech
AAF’s technology stack includes internationally recognized, standards-based open-source solutions for the identity and access management needs of federated research and education communities.

You’ve probably never heard of tools like CILogon, COmanage, SATOSA and Shibboleth, however previous experience with authentication and directory service tools like Active Directory, Okta, or OpenLDAP, and their integration with third-party services are helpful.
