Director of Community and People

Lockdown 1.0, I wanted to paint the house. I bought all the gear, got everything out of the shed and away we went. I was pumped, I was motivated! We all were, weren’t we?
Lockdown 2.0, I’m pretty sure I’ve showered, today. Possibly. Zoom isn’t as exciting as it once was. My partner and I are powering through the wine bottles, at an impressive rate, contemplating life without school and childcare.
Some say I should get into motivational speaking and go on tour. And they would be right.  So, what can I tell you to get YOU excited about this?
This role is big. You have a team of 50 across Australia, US and Europe mainly in Support but also People Ops. This gig reports directly into the CEO and a key member of the senior leadership team. You will also be a cultural leader in the business – living the core values and able to drive positive change – structures, process and tools.
The teams you lead are responsible for driving is ensuring that everyone who touches and engages with the brand, internally and externally, are delighted by the experience.
Who is this business?
A well-known marketplace that started here and a real success story and highly thought of workplace for good reason. I will happily discuss culture, environment – it feels like a verbal conversation but I will say it’s a business we’re really happy to be working with.
What are they looking for?
A lot of things. Track record in leading teams remotely and running support globally. Things like customer support, client-facing, HR/Ops and if you’ve got experience in working for a marketplace, that would be beneficial, but not essential. A strong customer and operations background within or throughout your career. You effectively represent the voice of this business. This is a leadership role and someone that can influence cross-functionally.
If this made sense and is intriguing or, the most exciting thing you’ve read all day then apply and say hi.
Oh, I would add, we have MANY communication platforms and we love talking to people, but applying first then having a chat would be the best way to do it.
