Digital Strategist

About the biz:

We’ve linked arms with an exceptional eComm agency in Brissy that, from our perspective, holds a rep in town that’s one to be reckoned with. We’re helping them find a talented Digital Strategist to join their team, and let me tell you, we’re pretty darn wrapped about it!

This team is built up of absolute legends that are highly respected for their work in agency land. These guys are BIG fans of doing things the right way! What do I mean by “the right way”? Well, they’re an all-class team, with exceptional senior leadership leading the way. This has enabled them to be committed to putting their employees and their clients at the heart of everything they do. They’re confident in their craft and keep their finger on the pulse of moving digital forward and staying wholeheartedly committed to offering their team the best of the best in training and development.

They’re backed by a global footprint with offices across the world and have some of the best leading brands under their management. In short – there’s lots of room for you to flex your muscles and get stuck into exciting strategies with predominantly new business clients (there will be some existing in there too) that’ll sit under your ownership strategically in the Growth team.

About the gig:

This is a pretty special opportunity and one that you probably won’t see popping up too often within this agency. We’re after an experienced Digital Strategist to join their growth team and yes, this role really does come with those leadership opportunities clearly mapped out for the right person, and in your grasp if you want it. What more could you ask for?

Whilst this role sits within the Growth/ Sales team, your bread and butter will need to sit in the Digital Strategy and Account Management space. You’ll be someone who knows how to delight inbound sales leads and deep dive into the goals of new brands coming on board with the agency. You’ll need to be a bit of a jet at working with the wider specialist teams to create a compelling digital strategy for them. You’ll also be confident in working with big brands and setting them up for success in the digital space. Right now? You’re probably in an agency of a decent size as we speak. And more importantly, you’re likely in an account management/strategy role and perhaps playing a pivotal role in providing a great deal of impact on the overall digital strategy, happiness, and future direction of your clients.

To make this role a shining success, we think you might be someone who can bring a solid foundation of marketing/digital skills to the table. In other words – you get it, you’re passionate about it, and you’re someone who thrives on carefully crafting new marketing strategies for some of Australia’s top brands. It goes without saying that you’ll need to be someone that’s inquisitive, curious in nature, and that loves to deep dive into the needs and goals of a brand, whilst feeling confident enough to take the reins on working with the specialist teams to form up compelling strategies that = success for clients that are just starting out on their journey with the agency.

The most exciting part? You’ll be working with entirely inbound leads (yep, that’s right, no cold leads here!) and your core focus will be to use your ripper account management/ strategy experience to build a strong relationship with the businesses you’re engaging with. Not to mention, the team will set you up for success and help you create a genuine opportunity to learn and evolve your skills (cool, huh?).

Here’s a look at what you’ll be owning and evolving in the role:

  • Work with prospective clients to first understand their business and marketing goals and then customise a proposed digital marketing strategy to meet their objectives, based on the unique insights you have from understanding their business;
  • Build rapport and transparent relationships with potential and existing clients while acting as a trusted consultant;
  • Run effective and informative sales meetings to identify the needs of the client. This includes new business meetings, along with presenting your proposal to new leads and their stakeholders, pitching new ideas to existing clients, along with any other meetings to support the team;
  • Develop customised and informative proposals, research documents, and other materials to support your sales process. This will cover a wide range of digital marketing channels, (paid advertising, social media, content, conversion rate optimisation, and wider online advertising);
  • Provide continued support to the operations team during the early stages of the campaign implementation;
  • Stay on top of the latest digital marketing strategies, tactics & trends
  • Provide input and develop new digital marketing product and service strategies
  • Live and breathe all things digital marketing (it’s a must!); AND
  • Report directly to the head of growth and be a key support in the whole growth and marketing direction & growth of the business.

To make this role a shining success you’ll have:

  • An understanding of digital marketing with 2 – 3 years of experience in an account executive/ manager/strategist or similar marketing role;
  • Passionate about fostering trusted relationships within our extended partnership network;
  • You’d describe yourself as someone who wants to create and build their own brand within an organisation that’s growing;
  • Problem-solving and strategic thinking -you’re someone who can think creatively and logically to develop solutions;
  • Natural rapport building skills – you’re someone who can engage with a variety of people;
  • Confidence in working with clients, presenting ideas, and clearly explaining abstract concepts;
  • A passion for delivering exceptional customer service and exceeding client expectations;
  • Resilience to develop relationships over time;
  • A ‘can-do’ attitude that can be applied to your client’s work, the team around you, and the business as a whole;
  • Ability to independently manage an inbound sales pipeline and deal with multiple clients at once;
  • Organised and detail orientated enough to manage projects with many moving parts;
  • Ability to work well within a team environment; AND
  • Excellent verbal and written skills.

So… what do you think? Have I piqued your interest? I sure hope so.
Oh yeah, here’s how you’ll find me:
