Applications Services Analyst

This role will be responsible for the delivery of technical activities including end to end development of small to medium software projects and post implementation, will be responsible for providing Level 2 and Level 3 technical, procedural and process support for core business systems.

As part of the IT Applications team the role will provide ongoing support and guidance around the Application landscape and work within the Rhapsody Integration Environment to provide support and development to the business & around projects.

This is a great opportunity as the role has the potential of growing from an Application Support role to an Integration Specialist role, so will suit someone who is looking to grow and develop their capabilities around Application Integration and build their career as an Integration Specialist, in future.

Main responsibilities of the role are:

  • Application support for multiple applications used across the business.
  • Working closely with key business users and functional experts throughout the organisation as the technical expert for incident resolution, vendor management and the delivery of key initiatives in system improvements, integration, and data management for supported systems.

Requirements for the role are:

  • 3+ years proven experience in Level 2/Level 3 application support.
  • Excellent understanding of the system development lifecycle and Agile processes and practices.
  • Knowledge of .NET Framework, ASP, JavaScript, jQuery, HTML, CSS, XML, SQL Server, Reporting Services, and relational database.
  • Visual Studio, Team Foundation Server, and MS Office.
  • A developer background desirable with scripting/automation experience using PowerShell/VBA/C# (scripting expertise essential).
  • Experience in SQL Integration Services (desirable).
  • Knowledge in SharePoint including its data import tools.
  • Experience in the deployment of upgrades and rollouts of applications, configuring of enhancements of applications and testing of new and amended systems.
  • Comfortable to take charge in the root cause analysis, able to analyse the situation, come up with better ideas on how to automate and eliminate manual involvement where possible.
  • Health industry experience highly desirable
  • Basic knowledge of Application Integration
