AustRoads is the collective of Australian and New Zealand transport agencies, serving as a pivotal organisation for providing high-quality, practical, and impartial advice, tools, and services. With a vision to be the leading provider of authoritative information and services for a safe, efficient, reliable, and sustainable transport network, AustRoads operates with a focus on safety, sustainability, and future-proofing transport infrastructure. As a member-owned collective representing all levels of government, AustRoads is uniquely positioned to address the evolving needs of the transport sector through strategic planning, research, and the development of nationally consistent guidelines.

What we did:

With affiliations including NSW Transport and VicRoads, AustRoads faced the challenge of centralising their operations to enhance collaboration with key stakeholders and improve the delivery of technical services to federal and state road authorities. To achieve this, AustRoads required specialised talent including a Chief Data and Technology Officer to spearhead the technology transformation, a technology contractor to document standards and processes on a key project, and a Senior Consultant acting in an interim leadership role to strategise and oversee the implementation of new technology initiatives. These roles were critical in enabling AustRoads to better manage and utilise data, ensuring more effective and secure information sharing with their partners.
