Technical Support Engineer


Affix continues to partner with a HealthTech start-up that is working hard to make a genuine difference to people’s lives, for the better.  Without further ado, I’d like to introduce you to Global Kinetics Corporation. Also known as, GKC.
Founded in 2007, their leading product has been developed by neurologists and enables the precise monitoring, quantification, and reporting of movement patterns of neurological diseases such as Parkinson’s disease. This is a great opportunity to work for a business that has some serious purpose, and who really care about the work they are doing. Their IoT platform is currently in 17 countries, with 18,000 people using their devices. Along with this, they are growing substantially, with a big pipeline of projects approved.

This is initially a 6 month contract with the potential to extend and become permanent.
In this role as Technical Support Engineer you will be responsible for:

  • Troubleshooting for hardware (Linux & Java)
  • Root cause analysis – analysing incidents and trends
  • Defining solutions to reduce future issues
  • Documenting system support, issues management and system support processes
  • Responding to support tickets (CRUD)
  • Automation and scripting support and deployment tasks

In addition to having experience in the above areas, the following skills will be highly regarded:

  • MySQL Workbench
  • AWS/other Cloud platforms
  • Continuous integration tools (integrating automated regression testing into build and deployment pipelines)
