Sound good? – Awesome, I’ll begin…
We’ve just partnered up with an immersive technology (AR, VR) start-up who, in a ridiculously short amount of time have been able to build not one, but four connected product offerings in their business. They’re working with cutting-edge technology every single day and have formed partnerships with the likes of Google to bring pioneering immersive experiences to everyday folks, like us.
One of these products is a comprehensive hardware and software (web application in RoR) package that allows anyone to create immersive, virtual experiences in the blink of an eye for $100. They’re targeting the Real Estate market and through the platform, they’re going to raise the bar in Real Estate marketing and transform the way real people experience renting or buying their homes.
Where do you come in?
You’ll be joining a small, but high performing Ruby on Rails development squad that have the autonomy, freedom and trust to kick serious goals. They ’ve got a mountain of new features to deploy in the next 12 months and a heap of exciting new partnerships on the horizon to expand the products already crazy success.
So, what’s the tech behind this product?
From a technology perspective, the web app is currently built in Ruby on Rails, with React components in the frontend. On the hosting side, they are completely AWS with ElasticBeanstalk as their application orchestration tool.
These guys take engineering standards seriously too and value things like Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) and of course proper testing. Their CD pipeline is an AWS native solution through CodePipleline, CodeBuild and CodeCommit, with Rspec used for testing.
Who’s going to be successful in this role?
Well, like anything it’s a blend. We’re looking for an experienced Ruby on Rails Developer – sure. But more than that, we’re looking for someone who can add to our culture and team. Drive new ideas, ask questions, challenge the status quo (and probably the team) and have heaps of fun.
