.Net Developer | C#, Core2, Azure | Lead projects with global reach – $120-150k+

Do you want to lead the build & architecture of apps that have global reach and will affect real people and real lives?
affix has partnered with a seriously cool start-up that works with famous fitness gurus to help us normal folks with the fitness and the health. They are a product agency based in creative Cremorne with their own suite of global applications that are centered around improving people’s physical and mental health, mindfulness and wellbeing.
Things are ramping up! Why??
Well, for starters they’re building a brand-new program and believe me this thing is going to be MASSIVE! It’s the highest profile project they have ever launched and when you add partners like Apple (yup, the Apple) and a super famous Hollywood celebrity in the mix, this is gonna explode. The application itself (native iOS & React app) will be pushed not only in the USA and Australia but will span globally. Imagine your work being used every day by people all over the globe – kinda’ cool right?!
What does that mean!?
Well, it means that we’re not just looking for any .Net Developer. We’re looking for someone to help lead this thing. Someone to come in and add a layer of true expertise, that can work closely with the Head of Technology, native iOS and FE teams to deliver Azure cloud-based applications, underpinned by true engineering practices, code quality and proper testing.
Are we perfect? Hell no! But, what we are is aware, open and mature enough to know what kind of goals we want to be kicking and what it’s going to take to get there.
Jobs to be done:
Well, there’s some super interesting projects to get involved in. We believe in giving engineers the autonomy to be creative, suggest new ideas and make mistakes. Here’s some insights into our roadmap of projects, plus some other goodness you’ll help define, test and lead:

  • Working with our HO Tech to define both application and Azure cloud architecture
  • Take the lead in our C# development practice, specifically around best practice for our API (.Net Core2) and CMS builds, test coverage and application architecture
  • Working with the squad to improve the way we serve content through Solr
  • Helping us to improve the way we build, test & deploy from a CI/CD perspective
  • Pairing up with our iOS and React teams to manage and define what they need from a REST API perspective to kick goals in their apps
  • Providing peer review & pair programming

And then…

  • A greenfield project to re-platform our proprietary CMS into .Net Core 2.0
  • Implement well-defined unit testing and TDD practices into our C# code base
  • Lead the build of new CI pipelines and tooling

Told you there was a lot to do! Best of all, there’s tonnes of autonomy for you to suggest ideas and projects too.
This sounds awesome and I’m interested! – What’s the wider tech stack?

Awesome question! The tech stack on this is currently:

  • C# 4.6.2 & .Net Core 2.0
  • MSSQL / NoSQL – specifically Cosmos DB, but the use of any NoSQL db is fine
  • Azure Cloud
  • Gitflow, JIRA, CircleCI & Teamcity

What else?
This is most definitely a Lead role, and whilst there will be team leadership for sure, you’ll still be 100% hands on. That said, the key to success in this gig is strong communication skills, leadership qualities and of course collaboration!
The kind of person we’d love to hear from will likely be a Senior .Net Developer looking for a step up or a .Net Lead looking for more autonomy and say in how and why things get built.
So if you’re passionate about championing quality engineering practices and want to help deliver high quality applications that improve people’s lives – get in touch for all the deets!
