So, I’ve recently paired up with a multi-award winning product design and customer experience agency in Collingwood. They’re a cool bunch of thinkers, facilitators and developers, who produce exciting, meaningful digital products that revitalise and reimagine industries. From service design projects that make public political voting in Victoria more accessible; to large-scale, information-heavy web apps that enable Australian’s to manage their own healthcare information more accurately.
The team has a mature studio workflow, and they get to work on super interesting and complex client problems. They’re the innovation team for tonnes of well-known brands, so no boring, stale, maintenance code in sight for this one. New projects. New builds. New challenges!
On the subject of challenges – I think this is the most appealing part of this role for me. Due to the nature of the work, the guys aren’t restricted or confined to working with just one stack, or one digital medium. They produce web apps, mobile apps & websites. Their work mixes service design, product design and web design. Sure, they like to play to their strengths, but the opportunity here is to spread your wings and work across a range of different technologies and frameworks, not just be locked down to one.
Some of the Tech:
It’s a real mixture depending on what’s needed and right for the solution to a success! So you’ll be working with the usual suspects such as; HTML & CSS (SASS), as well as Angular & React with the opportunity to learn and explore things like React Native as you progress.
The Challenge – where are they at?
As more and more of the worlds tech moves toward lightweight, reusable and modular frameworks, the team have noticed that their front-end capability isn’t where it needs to be. They have some truly gifted developers in the team, but what we’re looking for now is a UI / front-end specialist to come in and really own both the choice of FE tech on projects and add some depth of knowledge in this field.
You’ll be working alongside the Technical Director, Steve and the wider Development team to produce engaging, intuitive and user-focused front-end applications for industries including health, consumer, government, education and more. Of course, you’ll need the technical chops to really stand out, but you’ll also need to have an eye for clean UI design and what it takes to succeed in a product agency!
I’m a technical recruiter which means that I speak engineer, I actually know what you do and I won’t waste your time!
So, if you want to see your work reach real Australian’s, affect & improve people’s lives, then this could be the gig for you. As ever, there’s a tonne more to tell you about this role, if you want to find out more, please give me a call and I’ll gladly run you through all the details.
