Digital Project Manager (Junior-Mid level | Agile | Social impact projects)

Melbourne

Before we get all heavy in the details of this Digital Project Manager gig, let’s play a quick game… If you answer “yeah” to the following three points, we win a copy of your resume and a chat about your future! Wanna play? – Oooookay here we go…

  • I want to create award-winning digital products that improve people’s lives
  • I’m looking for a company that will invest in my growth and teach me Agile delivery
  • I’d love to work in a collaborative, cross-functional UX Design & Engineering squad

If you’re nodding your head right now, definitely read on!

Here’s a bit about them:

So, we’re pairing up again with our friends at a multi-award winning product design and customer experience agency in Collingwood. They’re a cool bunch of thinkers, facilitators, and developers, who produce exciting, meaningful digital products that improve people’s lives! From service design projects that promote gender diversity in political voting in Victoria; to applications that allow women and their children to safely leave abusive relationships and seek help.

The team has a mature agile studio workflow and they get to work on super interesting and complex client problems; often acting as the innovation team for tonnes of well-known brands. So, no boring projects in sight for this one! Just an opportunity to learn, learn, learn!

The role & what you’ll learn:

This role will be focused on leading the successful delivery of a whole range of different projects from UX design (LEAN user research & rapid design validation) to full mobile and responsive web application builds.

All of our projects start with a design sprint with the client to learn more about the problem domain. From there, we’ll have a pretty good idea about the project and can estimate the time and cost of the design, architecture and build. One we’ve started working on the project, we follow the Scrum methodology with use of Jira’s (online) Kanban board to keep the whole squad communicating and continually driving toward a successful project outcome.

You’ll get exposure and will learn all of this and more. The first two projects are already 100% scoped, so you’ll have a soft landing to get up to speed, learn about the team and try out ideas. Don’t worry, we’re not going to throw you in too deep!

What kind of Project Manager are we looking for?

Well, in a nutshell, we’re kinda looking for someone who shares similar values to us. Someone who is eager to learn, passionate about improving the lives of others through digital products, communication, teamwork, and organisation.

If you’ve got these, you’ll find the below a cinch:

  • Stakeholder management
  • Project health reporting, budget, time, risk, issues, actions
  • Managing project scope and deliverables
  • Internal resource management
  • Timeline development and review
  • Team coordination and scheduling

Whether you’ve been doing this gig for a couple of years and are looking for the next best home, or you’re a super enthusiastic grad keen to get into the wonderful world of product and are seeking a friendly team to help upskill you as you go – then it’s worth a chat, and I’d love to say hello!
